FEATURE EXTRACTION OF CROPPED IMAGE

I am following this:

X=imread('croppedImage.jpg');

croppedImage.jpg

dimension=size(croppedImage)

% Mean M=mean2(X)

% Covariance C=(X-M)*(X-M)'

Now I do not know how to find Eigen Value and Eigen Vector from Covariance Matrix.

Please help

Also write code for this statement "Finally the Eigen vectors are arranged in such a way that the corresponding Eigen value is in the decreasing order."

hi, i have read the same paper as above. Can you please tell me how the red color hand image is obtained after the hsv image as shown below:

I'd say that the image was probably converted to HSV space and they thresholded the S channel. Then took the largest blob.
