Code for high speed Target detection and tracking using stereo vision system ?

I am basically doing my M.Tech. For the thesis i am doing a project on "Target detection and Tracking using Stereo Vision System".

My idea is that i am gonna create a custom Stereo vision and place it over a Pan/tilt mechanism, which is gonna track any object that enters the range of stereo vision system. For purpose of application am gonna put a toy gun which will hit the target entering the range.

Am new to Matlab and my professors have asked me to do the programming for the above mentioned project in Matlab. If anyone is familiar with the above process... kindly help me...

As no one has replied to my post, i completed it myself. Though its not able to track fast, it is able to detect any uni color object and track it continuously.
