Description

Select Extended CAN ID to use extended 29-bit CAN identifiers for XCP external mode communication between the host computer and Raspberry Pi®.

By default, XCP on CAN uses standard 11-bit CAN identifiers. Enable this parameter when your CAN network requires extended 29-bit identifiers, for example, when standard identifiers are already in use by other CAN nodes or when the network architecture mandates extended frames.

Dependencies

To enable this parameter, set Communication interface to XCP on CAN.

Settings

Off (default) | On

Select whether to use standard or extended CAN identifiers for XCP communication.

Off (default)

Use standard 11-bit CAN identifiers for XCP external mode communication. Standard identifiers support CAN IDs in the range 0x000 to 0x7FF.

On

Use extended 29-bit CAN identifiers for XCP external mode communication. Extended identifiers support CAN IDs in the range 0x00000000 to 0x1FFFFFFF, providing a larger address space for CAN networks with many nodes.
