Open Circuit Test of a Transformer
The open circuit test of any transformer is done by leaving the secondary side open and applying nominal voltage to the primary side. This test is useful to find out the shunt parameters of the transformer referred to the primary side. Data can be collected from this test to show the linear relationship between the voltage-current variables and the non linear relationship of voltage and current with respect to power.
