MRI segmentation and bias field correction
This package includes the Matlab code that implements the method for tissue segmentation and bias field correction in Chunming Li et al's paper:
"Multiplicative intrinsic component optimization (MICO) for MRI bias field estimation and tissue segmentation", Magnetic Resonance Imaging, vol. 32 (7), pp. 913-923, 2014
The MICO algorithm implemented in this code has been validated on thousands of MR images, and has exhibited advantages over many popular algorithms in terms of robustness, efficiency, and accuracy. It can be used for normal MR image data for brain tissue segmentation and bias field estimation/correction, and there are no parameters to be tuned in the implementation in this package.
The Matlab code is written clearly and concisely, easy to read and understand. The users and developers can conveniently use it for applications and further development. We are optimizing the implementation to make it even more efficient, and modifying the algorithm as well to further improve the performance.
