Shear Strain DIC (for Bias Extension tests)

Digital Image Correlation and Tracking for shear testing (such as the Bias Extension method)

You are now following this Submission

Intended as a means of extracting 'shear angle' (strain) information from a large sequence of images taken during shear testing of a fabric reinforcement material. Digital Image Correlation (DIC) is used to track changes between images and deformation is calculated from a mesh of elements (either 4 node linear or 9 node quadratic) using a non-orthogonal approach specifically designed for woven fabric materials.

In its provided form the code is optimised and designed specifically for Bias Extension tests (with any specimen size, including 'wide' samples). Though it could easily be used for 'Picture Frame' shear tests.

Contains detailed instructions on the use of the code and its underlying theory.
