Image file can be used as an icon on a Simulink block. In this example, the image is reduced to a size such that the I/O names can still be seen.
To see how this is done:
-Open the model
-Edit block mask
-Go to icon drawing commands

"image(imread('magic.jpg'),[.2, .2, .6, .6],'on')"
with normalized drawing coordinates
makes this possible
