solid state circuit breaker

Two stage circuit breaker breaks the circuit in two stage, therefore optimising the passive elements
In two stage circuit breaking, the energy stored in the circuit is dissipated in two stages. This results in low voltage fluctuation, whereas in single stage circuit breakers it is not possible to limit overvoltage less then 3.5 p.u. unless we increase the capacitance value. So, two stage thyristor circuit breaker absorbs all the inductive energy in two stages which thereby the commutation capacitor
capacitance value is less, and voltage fluctuation is also reduces.
