Synchro Transmitter/Receiver App

provides a complete virtual testbench to study and simulate synchro operating characteristics without requiring physical hardware

You are now following this Submission

This educational application is developed by Dr. Nitin Phadkule and Prof. Sanjay Dhamse for electrical engineering students and educators. It provides a complete virtual laboratory environment to study Synchro Transmitter-Receiver systems without requiring immediate physical hardware benches, while also bridging the gap toward physical testing via automated report generation.Key Features:
  1. Mode 1 – Transmitter Characteristics:
  • Computes and plots the three-phase stator voltages ($V_{S1-S2}$, $V_{S2-S3}$, $V_{S3-S1}$) as a function of the transmitter rotor angle ($\theta_t$).
  1. Mode 2 – TX–TR Pair Operation:
  • Simulates torque-balance position transmission between a transmitter and a receiver, mapping ideal 1:1 tracking curves and tracking error states.
  1. Mode 3 – Transducer Mode (Error Detector):
  • Operates the synchro pair as an error detector, plotting the sinusoidal error voltage curve ($V_{R1-R2}$) against angular misalignment ($\theta_t - \theta_r$).
  1. Interactive Data Logging & Evaluation Portal:
  • Allows students to log readings across $30^\circ$ steps from $0^\circ$ to $360^\circ$.
  • Features a "Create Report" button that instantly generates a publication-quality, printable HTML lab report complete with SVG plotting grids, customizable waveform curve-fitting, and student metadata fields.
  1. Real-Time Visualizations & Circuit Diagrams:
  • Integrates knob controls, dynamic status readouts, live schematic mapping, and built-in theory/procedure instructions.
Requirements / Prerequisites
  • MATLAB® (Recommended: R22b or newer with App Designer support)
  • Toolboxes: Standard MATLAB environment (no specialized toolboxes required; uses core UI components and SVG/HTML web export utilities).
How to Run
  1. Download or clone the repository containing the SynchroTransmitterNew.mlapp (or class definition script).
  2. Ensure any referenced image assets (such as SYNTRASNSIMAGE1.jpg) are located in the same working directory.
  3. In the MATLAB Command Window, run:Matlab
