PADSIP (Performance Analysis and Driving Simulation Program) is a MATLAB App Designer–based tool for simulating and analyzing wheeled and tracked vehicles. It supports multiple propulsion systems, including electric, series hybrid, parallel hybrid, and fuel cell vehicles. Users can select vehicle type, modeling approach, and vehicle class, adjust key parameters, and run corresponding Simulink models.
To get started, download the shared PADSIP.zip file. After downloading, extract the ZIP file directly to your Desktop. The extracted folder will be named PADSIP and contains the following:
  • Icons folder with block and interface images
  • Models folder with all vehicle Simulink models
  • PADSIP.mlapp MATLAB App file
  • PADSIP – Basic User Manual.txt
No additional folders are required; the PADSIP folder is ready to use.
After opening PADSIP.mlapp in MATLAB R2025b or later, users must update file paths in Code View to reflect their system. This includes icon paths and model paths so that images and Simulink models are correctly linked. All paths use a placeholder PCName which should be replaced with the user's computer name. On English systems, replace the Desktop folder name if necessary.
Once paths are updated, select the desired Modeling Type, Vehicle Type, and Vehicle Class, adjust parameters, then click Confirm Parameters and Run. The simulation executes automatically, and results can be viewed in the Results tab. Graphs can be exported in PNG, PDF, JPEG, or other high-resolution formats.
Each Simulink model contains blocks with custom icons. If file locations change, update the icon paths via Mask → Edit Mask → Icon.
Following these steps ensures proper operation of PADSIP for analyzing and simulating different vehicle configurations, producing accurate performance metrics and high-quality graphs.
