A MATLAB/Simulink model of a grid-connected PV system was built to assess islanding detection methods at the PCC.

The simulated system includes:
  • A PV array supplying DC power,
  • A DC/DC isolated converter controlled by an Incremental Conductance MPPT algorithm,
  • A DC-link for power stabilization,
  • A three-phase Voltage Source Inverter (VSI) operating in grid-following mode with current control in the synchronous reference frame,
  • A Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) for grid synchronization,
  • Passive and active anti-islanding protection blocks implemented according to IEEE 1547
