Micro-app for the visualization of axial-flow compressors under off-design conditions. Users can explore velocity triangles, blade cascades and compressors maps by adjusting key dimensionless parameters. The tool links geometry, aerodynamics and performance in a single interface, allowing useres to play online with mass flow or speed variations. Designed as an interactive support for learning, it offers a simple and intuitive way to understand the complex behavior of axial compressors.
The graphical user interface serves as a valuable educational resource, both in the classroom and for self-study purposes. During theory lessons, teachers can employ the tool to effectively communicate the concepts of off-design performance and their influence on the velocity diagrams and KPIs. The visualization offered by the tool aid in illustrating the flow characteristics, enabling students to grasp the fundamental principles more readily. Moreover, students can use the tool to practice and reinforce their theoretical knowledge, as well as enhance their problem-solving skills. The application allows them to engage in numerical exercises utilizing established correlations.
