Loading an induction motor using an induction generator is a valuable test setup in laboratories and industrial test benches.
Concept: Induction Motor Loaded by Induction Generator
🛠️ System Description:
- Two identical or compatible induction machines are coupled mechanically via their shafts.
- One machine operates as a motor (powered from the grid or inverter).
- The other machine is driven mechanically and operates as an induction generator, feeding power back into the grid or dissipating it via a load resistor.
🧠 Why Use This Setup?
- To simulate mechanical load on the motor by adjusting the torque demand from the generator.
- To test the motor under different load conditions without using real mechanical loads like pumps or fans.
- Enables regenerative loading in test environments — energy-efficient.
