Basic Boost Converter Circuit
Main Components:
  • Switch (S) – Typically a MOSFET
  • Inductor (L) – Stores energy when the switch is on
  • Diode (D) – Provides a path for current when the switch is off
  • Capacitor (C) – Filters the output voltage
  • Load (R) – Consumes the boosted voltage
perating Principle
🔌 1. Switch ON:
  • Inductor stores energy.
  • Current flows through Vin → L → S → GND.
  • Diode is reverse-biased, output is powered by the capacitor.
🔋 2. Switch OFF:
  • Switch opens.
  • Inductor reverses polarity and pushes current through the diode.
  • Energy from inductor + input charges the capacitor and powers the load.
