Hillslope delineation
Version 1.0.0 (3.85 KB) by

These functions allow a user to delineate a watershed into a series of hillslopes using topography.
This set of functions allows a user to delineate a watershed of interest into a set of hillslopes that can be used for further watershed analysis. A DEM that extends to the edges (topographic highs) of the watershed is required. The code calculates flow directions and flow accumulations, and designates right-side, left-side, and headwater hillslopes for stream segments within the stream network. The user can control the extent of the stream network and therefore the hillslope scale using flow accumulation thresholds. These functions utilize the TopoToolBox software for DEM analysis. Example usage of these functions is in Wainwright et al. (2022).
