Climate proxy representativeness calculation and visualization toolbox.
The PREP toolbox calculate the representativeness of climate proxy. The representativeness (or sensitivity) of a proxy series (annual resolution) to a climate variable (monthly resolution) is characterized by determining a seasonal window (e.g., May to September) during which the correlation between the mean series of the climate variable within this temporal window and the proxy data series (both at annual resolution) is strongest. Moreover, a spatial polygon is identified, which is a connected region encompassing the proxy data sampling point. Within this region, the proxy data significantly indicate (at the specified significance level threshold) the variation of the climate variable over the same seasonal window.
