One way to develop an intuition about electromagnetic radiation is to think of the radiation field as the transverse component of ripples in electric field lines about a charge, ripples resulting from acceleration, which propagate at light speed away from the charge. This self-documenting Live Script calculates and visualizes such ripples for an arbitrary motion and offers many examples with single and multiple charges. It is populated with "Try this" suggestions for further exploration.
