The first observations of gravitational waves from compact binary mergers from the LIGO-Virgo collaboration's Hanford, Washington and Livingston, Louisiana interferometers are reconstructed using band pass and notch filtering, and the relative time delay of the signals is determined via cross correlation. The resulting chirp signals are shown to compare favorably to the published chirp signals.
The script describes how access the additional data at https://www.gw-openscience.org/data/ to explore similar signals.
