I am a student working on a project related to biomedical image processing. Specifically, I am researching the most suitable segmentation techniques to differentiate between different types of fats and muscles in the spine.
To be more innovative, I came up with the idea of using the new technique called SegmentAnythingModel. Unfortunately, after spending some time on it, I concluded that it is not suitable for my project, as it is more specialized in locating a specific region rather than substances. Therefore, I am looking for other techniques.
Among many, I think basic thresholding might be the most suitable. I am considering combining it with other techniques. I will share my progress in this post. If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it.
