Greetings ThingSpeak team,
Regarding the ThingSpeak Free plan - Is it elligible for usage as a part of academic course free of cost?
I was considering using your platform to demonstrate a few IoT functionalities while teaching an IoT PostGrad course to about 20 students, who would create free accounts during the course. Usability would be restricted within the free plan limitations during class activities.
However, I am unsure if this is allowed under the ToS. Do I require a Matlab license in this case?
Thanks!

The use you describe falls within the allowed use for the free license, though we would ask kindly that you share any successes you have with the platform, perhaps by posting here in the discussions.
If you decided that you wanted the advanced features that come with a ThingSpeak license, you can use the Academic license and share the use amongst your 20 users. The license allows up to 250 channels and 33 M messages over a year, and is lower than the cost of 20 student licenses (by about a factor of 4). However, it is infinitely more expensive than the free license.
Best of luck with your course, Im looking forward to hearing how it goes!
