Thingspeak MQTT broker not connecting
Hi everyone, is there any problem with the Thingspeak MQTT broker right now? This is the error message I keep seeing in the terminal window using node-RED.
[info] [mqtt-broker:ThingSpeak MQTT Broker] Connection failed to broker: mqtt://mqtt.thingspeak.com:1883
And on the gui, the mqtt-in node is perpetually in "connecting.." state.
I tested some weeks ago and it was working fine. Now it doesn't work. I have asked my students to make a simple project using the MQTT protocol and now they can't proceed, I don't understand why.

Time DescendingI'm sorry to bother you again. I partially solved the issue: while using the Node-RED instance installed on my local host, the communication with the mqtt3 Thingspeak broker using Username, password and client ID works perfectly, while for the project I gave to my students as homework I used Sensetechnic's FRED cloud service since my students are not very tech-savvy and that was the easiest route to mass distribute node-RED. I have locally installed NodeRED v.2.2.2, while on FRED they have NodeRED v.1.2.7. I wonder if this difference in version is the issue? I'll let also the Node-RED forum know of this issue, maybe I'll find a solution that is not ditching FRED.
Please update your MQTT to the new MQTT broker.
See the banner at the top of the community page:
"MQTT Users! Please migrate to the new MQTT broker at mqtt3.thingspeak.com to avoid losing data."
You can read more about how to update in this blog post from July of last year. MQTT update .
