Hello, I am interested in creating an IoT academic project, but I have encountered two difficulties: 1- It is necessary that in the ThingSpeak interface you can see a live camera. I have not found documentation or any information on how to do it. Yes, I know that you can import data from other websites (copy XPath), but I have not achieved it with traffic cameras from local websites. 2- I also need to act remotely on actuators, is this possible in ThingSpeak?

I would appreciate an honest answer, since in case of not being able to implement these solutions, I will have to find another platform or method to carry out this. Regards!

Hello, would you please let me know if you were ever successful with connecting a live camera and taking images/snapshots of what you see? I have a similar project with the university and would appreciate the feedback. (I do not think that using YouTube would be a viable solution for us due to project sensitivity)

You can setup a Raspberry Pi to stream to YouTube and make your youtube livestream unlisted and have the embed link to your livestream on ThingSpeak and see if it meets your requirement.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply. One of the constraints of the project is that it not be posted publicly, even if as unlisted, as anyone with the URL may be able to view and/or share the content. Is it possible to have it on MATLAB Online, Web App Server, Thingspeak or any other affiliated platform with increased security?

You could create a MATLAB Web App using the Raspberry Pi support in MATLAB using MATLAB Web App Server and host it within your network if privacy is one of the topmost concerns. This solution will require you manage server configuration, setup and scaling and provide you the necessary privacy.

Can your camera stream RTMP video stream? If so, you can send that stream to youtube and embed it on ThingSpeak. Here's an example: https://thingspeak.com/channels/366768 That channel has a live video and a static image.

It is possible to act remotely on actuators. Note that many variables in connectivity mean that the latency may vary quite a bit. Here's an example: https://www.mathworks.com/help/thingspeak/Channel-update-and-talkback-light-control-on-esp8266.html
