Can the hdr image be saved to png format?

Once the hdr image is created as it cannot be displayed,can it be saved to .png format for loss less compression? Also can the impixelinfo be used with .png formats to get the RGB values?

I cannot guess what "hdr image" exactly means in your case. Could explain this?
