Replicate peaks from graph into image

Hello,

I have a distance plot in which maxima and minima are already detected. Maxima labelled as red asterix and minima as green.

From there, how do I plot these maxima and minima into a grayscale image.

You can use plot() to put symbols into the overlay:

hold on;
plot(x, y, 'r*'); % x = column of the image, y = row, not vice versa!
