How to set external mode simulation in R2012b?

Hello, I am using R2012b release and I would need to set external mode simulation in Simulink, but I can only see Normal, Accelerator and Rapid Accelerator. Could you help me in understaing how to do? Thank you

Do you have a license for Simulink Coder (formerly, Real-Time Workshop)? AFAIK external mode support comes with that product.
