i designed my own filter coefficeints and got the result .. want to know whether my results are better or not than db4

my results are

The compression ratio is 28.0859

Retained Energy is 100.0000

PSNR value of decompressed image is 87.8646

and for 'db4' filter coefficients i got the result as

The compression ratio is 44.4661

Retained Energy is 99.9996

PSNR value of decompressed image is 113.4202

How do you want to measure "better"?

Obviously your function performs a stronger compression for the costs of a lower PSNR, while the reatined energy is almost equal.

If the memory is limited, your method is "better". When quality is more important db4 is "better".
