Saving an image with information plotted in it.

Hi, I would like to save an image together with the histogram plotted on the image. file1=imread('image1.bmp'); figure;imshow(file1); hold on;plot(imhist(file1),'r');hold off;

i would like to save the image that is created here. any help on this would be appreciated.

Personally I think that would be hard to read, not the least of which is that the plot would be upside down. Why not just use two axes side by side or over and under and display the image and the histogram bar chart and use export_fig() to save it?
