(Chi2gof) I would like to divide my data into a number of bins with an equal frequency instead of an equal width. Is this possible?

Hi everyone,
I would like to perform a chi2gof on my data by means of Matlab (I have the statistics toolbox, by the way). My problem is now the number of bins to use. I have got a dataset of 10000 datapoints, which is a lot. So, the default of 10 bins is rather low. Also, the p-value of the test is extremely dependent on the number of bins I specify. In some cases I reject the nullhypothesis while in other case I don't. Therefore, I now would like to divide my data into a number of bins with an equal frequency instead of an equal width. Is this possible? Cause it seems I can not figure this out.
Thanks in advance, Yasmine
