Need Formatted Table that can accept text data mingled with %<varname> tags.

I am new to MatLab Report Generator and am trying to control the word processing aspects of it. For example, I need to insert a proper table of text data mingled with variable tags (%<varname>) that will auto update when the variable workspace is updated. Ideally, I would like to be able to do this with paragraph and text components.

I have played with putting my table in a variable array but the varname tags are converted to numeric values and are no longer linked to the variable name after that.

I can simulate a table in a paragraph or text component by adding spaces to align columns using monospaced font, but any change in data length misaligns the columns.

Any help with a more elegant solution would be appreciated.
