Exporting a new wavelet to the desk top and using it

I built a new wavelet from a pattern I had using the wavemenu gui. I exported it to a file, and also to the workspace. But it doesn't export an m file, just X and Y, which I guess are the filters? But how do I 'tell' wavemngr to add it so that I can use it? I thought I had followed the directions carefully but it's not working. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Kim
