Using an external MEX file in a standalone compiled matlab app

Hello,

I have a compiled app, and I want the user to be able to give it a MEX file which will run in the app.

I have tried to use the run command with the location of the file, for example:

run("D:\Matlab Scripts\MyMex(5)");

which works perfectly fine in matlab, but in the app I get the error:

D:\Matlab Scripts\MyMex(5) not found.
