Hello, When running matlab 2020a, I am getting warning "MATLAB is selecting SOFTWARE OPENGL rendering."
I am having an Nvidia card with the latest Nvidia driver from thier site.
I am using Ubuntu 16.4.
I tried runnig matlab with "nosoftwareopengl" but then the "opengl info" doesn't find any hardware driver.
Why doesn't Matlab see my hardwhere driver? Should I check somethig also on my Ubuntu?
Any idea?
Thanks.

I needed to downgrade to NVIDIA binary driver 340.108 to make it work. They newer 390 and 412 versions I've tested did not seem to work.

I had this issue on Ubuntu 16.04 when running it in VirtualBox VM on a Windows host and I solved it with these instructions:
I am not sure what to do if this is not a VM, but it may give you some idea. Matlab ran dreadfully slowly before I fixed it.
The same set of instructions DOES NOT WORK on Ubuntu 18.04 and 20.04 as I think there are some changes in 3D acceleration support. Sadly I cannot seem to solve this problem with newer Ubuntu distributions.
