How can I show the latitude and longitude of the earthquake locations on the map in the app designer?

I want to show the latitude and longitude of the instant earthquake locations in the app designer. However, I get an error in the code I wrote with geoplot and geoaxes. How can I solve this problem?

            gx = geoaxes(app.UIAxes5);
            geoplot(gx,quakeTable.Lat(:,:),quakeTable.Lon(:,:),'r*')
            geobasemap 'colorterrain'

This is the code I wrote. But in the geoaxes section I get the following error:

Expected parent to be one of these types:

matlab.ui.Figure, matlab.ui.container.Panel, matlab.ui.container.Tab

Instead its type was matlab.ui.control.UIAxes.

Or, unlike this, how can I create an earthquake map instantly, does anyone know?

I think this documentation page contains the information you are looking for. You can find additional properties for geographic axes here.

I tried this line but I need to write app.UIFigure in the form where you type app.UIAxes5 to appear in the window I want, but again I get an error. The error I got is this:

What version of MATLAB are you using?

In the Display Plots Using Other Types of Axes section of the page I linked to, it says the following:

"Starting in R2018b, you can create additional plots, such as those listed in the following table."

My Matlab version is R2018b, I can not understand why it failed.

I just tested it in 2018b. Here is my code and the resulting output. I put the code in startupFcn so that I didn't have to bother creating another component or additional callback. You can place the code wherever you need to in your app.

I want to run this function inside the earthquake database tab and inside this box. I get an error when I write the name of this box.

You can't add a geographic plot to a UIAxes. Delete this box and use the position property I showed previously to place the geoplot. You won't see it until you run the app, so it may take a little trial and error. By default, the values are in normalized units (range from 0-1). To change the units, set the Units property.

To add a plot to a specific tab, add it as the partent in the geoaxes command. Based on your screenshot, the code for you might look something like this:

gx = geoaxes(app.UIFigure,'Parent',app.EarthquakeDatabaseTab);

I have removed all the code that was not necessary to create the plot. I did add gx.Units='pixels since your position value were not normalized, the default for geoaxes.

Once this is working, you will see that you need to delete the UIAxes you have placed on the 3rd tab.
