dynamic java path vs static java path

So, docs say one can add file javaclasspath.txt under the 'prefdir' folder, and its contents are loaded statically upon Matlab's start.
However, same docs say:
javaaddpath('C:\Users\<user>\Documents\JeroMQ\jeromq-0.5.1.jar','-end')
is equally valid.
Observation;
While using the static way seems to be working (as in one can use JeroMQ with Matlab), using the second/dynamic way, it doesn't ... anyone care to have a stab at explaining this????

Some Java functionality, especially those that are concerned with Java events that need to propagate to Matlab callbacks, does not work properly when using the dynamic Java classpath, only using the static one.
