how to connect various circuit elements like resistor, battery and ammeter, voltmeter?

i am getting red line while joining various circuit elements mentioned above. so please provide me some guidance related to this problem.

Hi,

    Are you using the blocks from simpowersystems? If you are using those blocks from simpowersystems, then you can connect by pressing 'ctrl' button on selecting your source block(which normally has inport or inputport) to your destination block (Normally outport or outputport).

Note: While pressing 'ctrl' button on your selected block, Make sure that, there will be '+' symbol ocuurs nearby your cursor

Even I am facing the same problem. I am using blocks from SimScape. I tried using 'ctrl' button, but in vain.

Do I need to change any setting?

simpowersystems blocks can be joined very easily. so i suggest Preethi to use simpowersystems blocks. otherwise simscape blocks are not joined at all.
