Is it possible to generate realistic sensory readings (e.g. temperature) in MATLAB ?

I am creating a simulation of a wireless sensor network in Prowler, MATLAB based WSN simulator. The problem is that this simulator is lacking the phenomena modeling. I need my simulation to have a realistic modeling of sensory readings such for the phenomena such as temperature or light.

Does anybody know if there is a solution available in MATLAB, either through toolbox or a script? Any tip is appreciated.
