Can not start Matlab R2012a remotely on iMac. Please help

6 views (last 30 days)
I first installed Matlab R2012a on a iMac. Then I logged onto the iMac from Terminal/Xterm on a MacBook using ssh -Y or -X. But when I tried to start Matlab, there was always the error
Error: Activation cannot proceed. You may either: 1. Set an X11 display, and restart the activation process 2. Use the silent activation feature 3. Activate using the license center
Can anybody help and give some suggestions about solving the error?
Thank you!

Can you start/activate it sitting on the iMac? After it's activated, it should be fine.
You can also look at the silent activation steps, they ship in the same directory with the installer -- but it would be much easier to just do it from the desktop of iMac if you only have to do it once -- the silent activation stuff is intended for unattended deployments.
If neither of the above work, installation support is available free of charge.

Hi Jason,
I activated Matlab once on the iMac and now I can remotely start Matlab. Thanks a lot for helping.
