HOW TO EXTRACT EXACT PROFILES FROM IMAGES (WITH LOW CONTRAST)?

Hi everyone,

I really need your help to extract profiles (as precisely as possible) from dark images (as showed in the attached image "Image to process"). I tried many and different filters and smoothing operations but I still have many to problems to extract the coordinates of the points that define the exact contours. I need to reconstruct the 3D objects starting from 500 of this type of images so I need to store the coordinates of pixels defining the profiles.

Anyone can help me?

I would really appreciate it, I don't know what to do anymore.
