"OutOfMemoryError: Java heap space " occurred when right click "Open Selction" on a 1*1500000 int16 matrix on workspace

Hi,
As shown in the title, the software crashed instantly. I tried 'pack' command but didn't work. Though I cannot open the data, I can right click and plot this matrix, so I was wondering is there any limitation for row and column length? Many thanks.
