Stacked Autoencoders and Encode/Decode Functionality
Show older comments
Hi. I am trying to duplicate an Autoencoder structure that looks like the attached image. This is from a paper by Hinton (Reducing the Dimensionality of Data with Neural Networks). I've looked at stacking Autoencoders, but it seems it only performs the encode function, not the decode. I am looking at this incorrectly, or is some other way to do this?

Stacked autoencoders perform both encoding and decoding. The following doc pages might be useful: https://www.mathworks.com/help/nnet/examples/training-a-deep-neural-network-for-digit-classification.html https://www.mathworks.com/help/nnet/ref/autoencoder.stack.html https://www.mathworks.com/help/nnet/ug/construct-deep-network-using-autoencoders.html

Yes, the stack function only extracts the encoders from the autoencoders and stacks them. It seems MATLAB does not support extracting the decoders yet.
