generator output smooth curve or stepped

I have 2 seperate models in Simulink each with their own waveform generator.

One of these generators produces a nice continuous smooth output, the other produces a "stepped" output like you would see in the output of a DAC without filtering.

I dont understand why the "stepped" output is not smooth ?

If you don't show what you are doing, the answer is simple. You are ding something wrong. The solution? Do it correctly. Do you want more feedback than that? Show what you are doing, else we must read your mind. That never works well.

Please find attached the first model in question. I will send the second model in my next comment. Just to note I used a fixed step solver - ode8 Dormand Prince for both models.

Apologies, the scope2 trace is taken from the "Scope" block in model2 which is fed by the "Sine" waveform generator.

Another way of putting it would be, if I have 2 identical models consisting of a sinewave generator and scope each and they had exactly the same parameters, they would produce the same smooth output. What would needed to be done to one of the models to make the output stepped ?
