Is it possible to read volumetric data after making multiple calls to SURFACE

I am using the surface routine to project multiple planes into a volume and the plots are great. The planes are not regularly spaced and they don't have the same orientation. After filling the volume with many surfaces, is it possible to read back the data as a regularly spaced volume data set?? The data consists of gray-scale ultrasound images. Any advise on this, or another technique to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

If you could also provide an example, it would help in understanding your goal.
