Add a blank line programatic report generation

Hello all,

I'm working on some code that generates a PDF report programatically. Simple question: I have an image, followed by a table, and I want to have a few blank lines between them so they don't appear too close. Is there a simple way to add a blank line? I've tried adding empty text objects but they don't seem to cause a new blank line to be inserted in the final PDF document. Sorry for my noobness. I find the documentation on report generation a little confusing and I can't find anything that accomplishes this simple task. Any help is appreciated!
