Should i use matlab and solidworks with the same year version in order to show the simmechanics link in the solidworks?

I use matlab 2015b and solidworks 2012, i follow every procedure and instruction to add simmechanics link in the solidworks, but doesn't work (the simmechanics link doesn't appear).. Do i have to use solidworks 2015 in order to connect to matlab 2015?
