How do I predict the next number in a series?

I have a data series x as a function of time y: x=[14,14,3,4,8,3,2,5,11,2,1,5,10,2,4,1,8,11,5,1,3,1,2;] y=1:1:23 How do I predict the next number (x,y=24)?
