Hello everyone,
I searched in the help documentation but I didn't find. Is there a function already exixsting in MATLAB in order to open and read a *.DAT file as for example the xlsread ? The *:dat file should contain a tables with the 2 first rows as names and units, the rest is some data.
Thank you for your help

See Data Import and Export. I would have used textscan, but there are many alternatives. The .DAT extension is not important as long as it's a text file.

readtable() should do it. Take a look at 'HeaderLines' if needed.
