How to extract the features of knee MRI images? I need to extract the features such as intensity, position, three-jet which consists of all first , second and third order derivative with respective to (x,y,z), eigenvalue and eigen vector?

Please give me some explanation about these features ... And how those features are helpful for segmentation of cartilage?

That's too complicated for us to do here for you, especially when you didn't provide an image. So all we can do is to refer you to the literature: http://www.visionbib.com/bibliography/contentsmedical.html#Medical%20Applications,%20CAT,%20MRI,%20Ultrasound,%20Heart%20Models,%20Brain%20Models, where hopefully someone, who probably spent months or years on it, has published a paper on it. Look over the citations, pick a paper, and code it up. I haven't read any of them so I can't recommend one to you.
