Wavelet compression with Region of Interesting (ROI)

Hi all,
Following documentation shows how to do true compression of 2d images with wavelets. Is there any method to apply Region of interest (ROI) in to this in order to losslessly compress some part of the image? Any suggestions? It will be great help.
