Hi all, I have an issue with signal processing and since I'm not an expert I'm looking for ideas.
Background: The signal comes from an experiment being monitored for 5 years sampled at irregular time steps. There is an enormous amount of data, however what I really need is a sample every hour/30 min. When it was first set the sampling frequency was 1Hz. After a while became 0.5Hz and decreasing till 0.01Hz. In 5 years some blackouts happened, therefore there are some missing data. Every time after a blackout, the sampling frequency re-started at 1 Hz and after a while decreased. I thought to reconstruct the signal at the highest sampling freq (1Hz), re-sampled at a lowest frequency (1 sample every 30 min) and then cleaning it ecc.. However if I do that I come out with 1.5*10^10 numbers in the first passage and maybe it is to much to manage. Any idea? Thanks, Gabriele

You can use the downsample command .
