hey could anyone please help me modify the code for measuring the radius of a tape in the IMAGE PROCESSING DEMOS to find the radius of a circle as a whole.

there is no change (fortunately for you). the line
abc = [x y ones(length(x),1)] \ -(x.^2+y.^2);
performs the same whether the x,y values span an entire circle or an arc of a circle
